Suspect In Arlington House Party Homicide Arrested In NYC
After an "exhaustive search," Jason Allen Johnson was arrested in New York City and charged with a February 2017 murder in Arlington.
ARLINGTON, VA — An "armed and dangerous" man wanted for a February 2017 murder in North Arlington has been arrested in New York City, police announced Wednesday.
Jason Allen Johnson, 38, of Washington D.C. was arrested for shoplifting in Manhattan at about 4:10 p.m. Tuesday. During the course of the investigation, police determined Johnson was wanted for first-degree murder in Arlington.
Police believe Johnson is responsible for the shooting of Michael Gray, 23, of Manassas. The shooting occurred at a party in the 6300 block of N. 29th St. at around 3:22 a.m. Feb. 19, police said.

After the shooting, "Johnson subsequently fled the area and a long, exhaustive search was initiated by the United States Marshals Service and the Arlington County Police Department," police said in a statement.
Police arrested a woman in March who they believe is connected to the murder at the house party. Monique Williams, 27, of Capitol Heights, Md. was arrested on a charge of accessory after the fact for her role in the slaying.

A District of Columbia Superior Court Warrant was also issued for his arrest when he failed to appear in court on a cocaine possession charge, police said.
