Vienna Man Killed In Crash At Rosslyn Tunnel In Arlington: Police
The Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Saturday morning on Interstate 66 at the Rosslyn Tunnel.
ARLINGTON, VA — The Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred early Saturday morning on Interstate 66 at the Rosslyn Tunnel in Arlington.
The driver of the vehicle, Talaat B. Hamooh, 26, of Vienna, died while being taken to the hospital, police said. Hamooh, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle, according to police.
A passenger, Hussain A. Aljahdali, 29, of Arlington, sustained minor injuries in the crash, according to police. He was wearing a seatbelt, police said.

That single-vehicle crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Hamooh was driving a 2018 Range Rover in the westbound lanes of I-66 when it ran off the right side of the road and struck a jersey wall just before the Rosslyn Tunnel. The Range Rover then traveled into the tunnel and overturned, police said.

Excessive speed is being investigated as a contributing factor in the crash, according to police.
