Wet Snow, Wintry Mix Possible For NoVA On Friday Followed By Blustery Saturday
Snow could mix with rain between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Friday in Northern Virginia, followed by all rain Friday afternoon and a cold Saturday.

VIRGINIA — The National Weather Service is calling for snow showers across Northern Virginia Friday morning, possibly mixed with rain, as a storm system moves into the Washington, D.C., area.
The snow will likely be mixed with rain between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., followed by all rain Friday afternoon. A light coating of snow on grassy areas is possible north and west of the Capital Beltway, according to forecasters.
"Temperatures will be marginally cold enough to support at least some wet snow mixing in with the light rain," NBC4 forecasters said. "Accumulations above a quarter-inch are unlikely anywhere east of the Blue Ridge."

Rain showers are expected to last through Friday evening, but most areas in Northern Virginia will see at most only a quarter-inch of rain during the storm.
Temperatures will start Friday in the 30s and eventually climb to the mid-40s. “While low impact, wet snow and a wintry mix will be possible during the morning hours, especially far western Maryland, any accumulation, if any, will be limited,” WJLA reported.

Any wintry weather chances will end midday Friday, with chilly rain showers remaining during the afternoon and evening hours.
Residents should plan for a blustery Saturday, with wind gusts to 30 miles per hour. High temperatures both Saturday and Sunday will range from the middle to upper 40s. Saturday wind chills will start in the 20s and climb into the upper 30s, according to forecasters.

The Capital Weather Gang said there's a chance of snow flurries or sprinkles Saturday morning.
AccuWeather meteorologists are monitoring another winter storm for early next week that could affect western Maryland, Pennsylvania and the Northeast. But the D.C. area will likely once again see mostly rain.
For that storm, showers are expected Sunday evening and could start off with a little snow, especially in the colder western areas of Virginia and Maryland. But rain will be the dominant form of precipitation in most areas as lows slip to the mid-to-upper 30s, according to the Capital Weather Gang.
