What are they Building at 3001 Washington Boulevard?

This is the first in an ongoing series providing details about some of the larger construction sites in Arlington County. 

The 3000 block of Washington Boulevard is now a giant hole in the ground, but by the end of 2014 it will be an office building with retail shops on the bottom floors.

The complex, at 3001 and 3003 Washington Blvd., is on the north side of Washington Boulevard between North Garfield and North Highland streets. It is within easy walking distance southeast of the Clarendon Metro station, across North Highland Street from the 7-Eleven.

The top floor of the building will have 14-foot ceilings and an outdoor balcony. 

Arlington County Permits indicate Clark Construction Group LLC is building one 10-story and one 8-story building, and the complex will have four levels of parking underneath.

A call to Clark Construction Group LLC last week was not returned.
