What's Open, Closed On Christmas In Arlington
Find out what's opening and what's keeping its doors closed on the holiday and New Year's Day.

ARLINGTON, VA — It's almost time to gather the family and tear into those carefully selected presents (you've finished your shopping, right?). While some people — including employees at some retail stores, as well as emergency responders — will be working on the holiday, many area businesses and offices will be closed, giving workers a day off.
Here's list of what's open and what's closed in Arlington for Christmas 2017.
Government offices and libraries will be closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 26 and Jan. 1.

Courts will close on Friday, Dec. 22 at noon and will remain closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 26, Jan. 1. and Jan. 2.
Libraries will be closed on Dec. 24, 25, 26 and on Dec. 31 and Jan 1.

Community Centers will be closed on Dec. 25, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. The following Community Centers are open on Dec. 26:
- Langston-Brown: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Madison: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
- Carver: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Thomas Jefferson: 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.
- Arlington Mill: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Metered Parking will not be enforced on Dec. 25, 26 or Jan. 1.
Trash & Recycling – There will be no trash and recycling services on Mon., Dec. 25 or on Mon., Jan. 1. Weekly services shift to the next day of the week, Tuesday through Saturday.
Christmas tree collection will take place Jan. 2-12, 2018. See details.
The County Board’s New Year’s meeting will be held Tue., Jan. 2, 6-7 p.m. followed by the Civic Federation meeting 7:30-9:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Watch live online or on YouTube when the meeting is in session.
