Recent data from the American Christmas Tree Association’s 2025 survey shows 83 percent of households putting up a Christmas tree will choose an artificial tree. The organization says the preference for artificial trees has been going on for more than a decade.

However, many artificial trees come from China and will come with higher prices due to tariffs, according to NPR.
According to PickYourOwnChristmasTree, real trees will cost about $10 to $13 a foot, depending on the type of tree. At that cost, a typical 7-foot tree would cost about $70 to $100.
