Bus Driver Charged In Pedestrian Death Near Ashburn Metro Station
A bus crash near the Ashburn Metro station killed a Purcellville resident. Now, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office has charged a driver.
ASHBURN, VA — Charges have been filed against the driver of a Loudoun County Transit bus that hit and killed a pedestrian Dec. 1 near the Ashburn Metro station, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
Alyssa Kakol, 34, of Purcellville, was pronounced dead at a hospital following the collision on Croson Lane near Moorefield Boulevard in Ashburn.
The sheriff's office said Thursday that the bus driver, Feseha Glmariam Ambaye, 63, of Fairfax, was charged Wednesday with failure to yield to a pedestrian, a Class 1 misdemeanor. Ambaye was released on a summons.

Ambaye is employed by Keolis Transit Services, LLC, which is contracted by Loudoun County to operate the county’s bus service.
