Loudoun Road Rage Shooter Enters Plea: Report
A Sterling man accused of shooting into a vehicle has accepted a plea deal rather than to go trial in Loudoun County, a report said.
STERLING, VA — A road rage shooting in Sterling has ended with a plea deal for one of two suspects, one day before their trial was set to begin in Loudoun County, a report said.
Aldo Betancourth Rivera, 35, of Sterling was charged with malicious shooting for firing a gun into an occupied vehicle, authorities said. No injuries were reported.
A plea deal was reached between Betancourth Rivera and the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, Loudoun Now reported Monday.

According to the preliminary investigation, the suspects discharged a firearm at vehicle occupied by a driver and a passenger. No injuries were reported.
Betancourth Rivera and Jimmy Paredes Madrid of Sterling, were both charged in the December 2024 shooting a day after the incident, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Paredes Madrid was charged with class 4 felony charges of shooting from a vehicle and shooting into an occupied vehicle, and misdemeanor charge of brandishing a firearm.
In October, a jury found Paredes Madrid guilty of malicious shooting, brandishing a firearm and shooting from a vehicle. He faces up to 21 years in prison when he is sentenced Jan. 15, Loudoun Now reported.
After that trial, Betancourth Rivera agreed to plead guilty to the lesser charge of misdemeanor reckless driving, spend 60 days in jail and pay court costs of $822.
