Inclement Weather Causes LCPS Schedule Change For Tuesday, Jan. 16
Snow and icy conditions have caused Loudoun officials to change the school schedule for Tuesday, Jan. 16.
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Loudoun County Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 16 due to inclement weather. School officials may allow some on-campus activities after 4 p.m., depending on conditions.
School officials said they would publish an update by 12 p.m. on Tuesday.
A storm brought snow and icy conditions to the region on Monday.

Here's the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.
- Monday night: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 26. Northeast wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
- Tuesday: Snow likely, mainly before 7am. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 32. Light north wind becoming northwest 13 to 18 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
- Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 13. Northwest wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.
- Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 30. West wind 7 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph.
- Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 18. West wind around 7 mph.
- Thursday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36.
- Thursday night: A chance of snow after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 26. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
- Friday: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 33. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
