Pedestrian Killed In Bus Crash Near Ashburn Metro Station: Sheriff's Office
A bus crash near the Ashburn Metro station killed a Purcellville resident, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

ASHBURN, VA — A pedestrian was killed in a crash with a Loudoun County Transit bus Monday near the Ashburn Metro station, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
Around 6:24 p.m. Monday, sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a pedestrian struck on Croson Lane just northeast of the Moorefield Boulevard intersection. The crash involved a Loudoun County Transit Bus.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. She was identified as Alyssa Kakol, 34, of Purcellville.

Authorities are not releasing additional details about the crash. The crash is being actively investigated by the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
