GreenDrop Gets Ready To Open Kings Park Donation Drop-Off Center
GreenDrop is opening a new donation center on Thursday in the Kings Park Shopping Center, where the public can drop off lightly used items.

SPRINGFIELD, VA — GreenDrop is opening a new donation center on Thursday in the Kings Park Shopping Center, where the public can drop off lightly used clothing, shoes, blankets, kitchenware and household goods.
The public will be able to drive up to the donation center where they will be greeted by a GreenDrop attendant who will collect the items on behalf of the American Red Cross. Donors in return receive a receipt for tax deduction purposes.
The Kings Park donation center will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Items donated are not distributed to or by the American Red Cross, but are sold in bulk to raise funds for the Red Cross. GreenDrop is a for-profit paid solicitor that accepts donations of secondhand clothing and household goods. The donations are tax-deductible, "to the extent permitted by law," GreenDrop says.
GreenDrop, which has more than 50 charitable donation centers in eight states and the District of Columbia, opened a drop-off center in Franconia last fall.
