Man Arrested For Breaking Into Cars, Stealing Credit Cards In Fairfax County

At the time of his arrest, the man had 21 active warrants on counts ranging from credit card theft, identity theft and narcotics possession.

WEST SPRINGFIELD, VA — A man is facing charges after police said he broke into cars and stole multiple credit cards from victims in Fairfax County.

Shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, officers from the West Springfield District Station’s Neighborhood Patrol Unit received a tip about a man with multiple arrest warrants who was in the area of the 7600 block of Tiverton Drive in Springfield.

West Springfield officers coordinated with detectives from the Fairfax County Criminal Investigations Division and confirmed that Solomon Reed, 30, of no fixed address, was actively being investigated and had 21 active warrants on counts ranging from credit card theft, identity theft, narcotics possession, vehicle tampering and hit-and-run.

According to police, investigators determined Reed was responsible for breaking into vehicles and stealing credit cards from victims, which he then used for fraudulent purchases.

Officers quickly located Reed and took him into custody. He was found in possession of suspected narcotics and stolen credit cards at the time of his arrest, police said.

Reed was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was served with 25 total warrants, including two counts of narcotics possession and two counts of credit card theft. He was held without bond.
