West Springfield High School Drama Students Recognized by Board of Supervisors
The Board issued a resolution honoring the drama department for winning the school its first state drama title in 15 years.

The West Springfield High School drama department was honored by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors on July 9 for their victory at the the 2012-2013 Virginia High School League (VHSL) one-act play championship earlier this year.
The Spartans won the one-act championship title for their play "The Other Room" back in February, giving the school its first state drama title in 15 years.
The 20-minute play "The Other Room" told the story of a teenage boy with autism who tries to connect with a female classmate while battling the voices in his head. The play was directed by Bernie DeLeo and featured eight students from West Springfield.
