Aluminum Association Hosts Weekend Scavenger Hunt
The grand prize winners will receive iPad 2s.

If you're in the mood for some old-fashioned family fun this weekend, pull out the camera and start practicing your best toothy grin!
The Rosslyn-based is hosting its first photo scavenger hunt. Groups can organize themselves into teams as small as two or as large as five and are charged with finding and snapping photos of various household items made of aluminum.
Members of the team that wins the grand prize will receive iPad 2s, which are - surprise, surprise - made with aluminum. The second-place team members will receive Kindle 2s and the third-place team members will receive iPod Nanos.

The Aluminum Association will post a list of 25 aluminum-based products on its Facebook page on Friday morning. Teams must take photos of items off the list.
Jim Lewis, a spokesman for the association, said the purpose of the scavenger hunt is to raise awareness about the importance this metal plays in our everyday lives.

"The idea behind it is aluminum is a ubiquitous metal in our everyday lives," Lewis said. "It’s something that you use everyday."
The good news is you don't have to be in Rosslyn to participate. The contest is open to teams across the country. The official rules are available on the Aluminum Association's website.
"We’re hoping the more the merrier, but we’re not quite sure what to expect," Lewis said. "The list will have items that are really easy for people to find because there are items in our homes... It seems like a fun thing to do in the summer. It’s a great thing to do outside."
