Why Go: Browse through a large selection of books for children ages 2 to 8, including old and new classics and teacher recommendations. In addition to books, there will also be facepainting, balloons, and lunch on the grill!

4. National Symphony Orchestra Pops presents Some Enchanted Evening: The Music of Rodgers & Hammerstein
Where/When: , 2700 F St. NW, Washington. Friday and Saturday, 8 p.m.
Why Go: This concert will be a whirlwind tour through some of Rodgers & Hammerstein's best-loved music, including "including classic hits such as 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain,' 'There is Nothing Like a Dame,' 'Surrey With the Fringe on Top,' 'You'll Never Walk Alone,' 'Shall We Dance?,' and many more."
Pricing: Tickets range in price from $20 to $85.

Why Go: Help end hunger at home and abroad by participating in the Arlington Hunger Walk on Saturday morning. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Arlington Food Assistance Center.
