According to the , this annual event "is a global initiative created in 2009 in a partnership between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York to celebrate fashion, restore consumer confidence, boost the industry's economy, and put the fun back in shopping."

Why Go: You don't have to fly all the way to the Big Easy to enjoy some jazz music. The Rosslyn Jazz Festival has been going strong for for 21 years now. Make plans to see Dee Dee Bridgewater, Henry Butler, the Al Williams Quartet and more on Saturday.

Why Go: It will be a sad weekend for many of us as we reflect on the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Georgetown Presbyterian Church will be leading its members and visitors in a service of "Remembrance and Reflection."
