Alex Springer Completes Its Purchase Of Rosslyn-Based News Outlet POLITICO
Alex Springer completed its purchase Tuesday of digital news outlet POLITICO, which has its headquarters on Wilson Boulevard in Rosslyn.

ROSSLYN, VA — Alex Springer completed its purchase Tuesday of influential news outlet POLITICO, which has its headquarters on Wilson Boulevard in Rosslyn, according to a release.
Alex Springer, a German-based publishing group, now owns all of the media properties previously owned Robert Allbritton. This includes POLITICO, and his 50 percent interest in POLITICO Europe, Protocol, E&E News and Agency IQ. The parties originally announced the sale agreement in August.

POLITICO and its companion publication Protocol employ more than 500 journalists.
Allbritton, POLITICO's founder and publisher, said in a release that the sale to Alex Springer marked a new era of opportunity for everyone involved in POLITICO.
