1 Injured In Shooting Reported In Arlandria: Alexandria Police
Alexandria Police are responded to a shooting incident on Mount Vernon Avenue in Arlandria.
ALEXANDRIA, VA — One person was injured in a shooting in the Arlandria neighborhood of Alexandria Friday, according to police.
There was a heavy police presence around the 3800 block of Mount Vernon Avenue due to the shooting. One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

George Washington Middle School was under secure the building status due to nearby police activity briefly from 1:25 p.m. to 1:40 p.m. Friday. It was unclear if the police activity was related to the Arlandria incident.
