Alexandria Residents To Vote In Races For Mayor, City Council, More
Alexandria voters will decide local races for Mayor, City Council, School Board and more.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Voters in Alexandria will head to the polls Tuesday to decide local races as well as statewide races.
The general election in Alexandria will include races for Alexandria mayor, City Council, sheriff, Alexandria School Board and Commonwealth's Attorney. State races include Virginia governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and Virginia House of Delegates Districts 45 and 46. Your ballot will depend on your School Board and House of Delegates district.
On Election Day, voters can head to their assigned polling place between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. You can check your polling place and registration status at vote.elections.virginia.gov or look at Alexandria's precinct maps.

For 2021, voters should note temporary changes: Ladrey Senior Building Precinct will vote at Charles Houston Recreation Center (901 Wythe Street); Hermitage Precinct will vote at John Adams Elementary School (5651 Rayburn Avenue); and Douglas MacArthur School Precinct will vote at The George Washington Masonic National Memorial (101 Callahan Drive).
To vote in person, an acceptable form of ID is required to vote in person, but it is no longer required to be a photo ID. Examples of accepted ID include a Virginia driver's license, DMV-issued ID, U.S. passport, current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck and more.

For those who requested an absentee ballot, ballots must be returned by 7 p.m. on Nov. 2, Election Day, in person or postmarked by Nov. 2 and received by noon on Nov. 5. Ballots may also be dropped off polling place during voting hours on Nov. 2, or 24/7 at a secure drop box outside the Office of Voter Registration & Elections by 7 p.m. on Nov. 2. The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail was Oct. 22. Early in-person voting ended on Oct. 30.
What's on the ballot
All ballots will contain local races for Alexandria mayor, City Council, sheriff, Alexandria School Board and Commonwealth's Attorney as well as state races for Virginia governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and Virginia House of Delegates.
Sample ballots are available for House of Delegates District 45 and School Board District A, House of Delegates District 45 and School Board District B, House of Delegates District 46 and School Board District B and House of Delegates District 46 and School Board District C.
