Blood Drive Planned In Del Ray As Donation Needs Continue

ALEXANDRIA, VA — With a continuous need for blood donations at Inova Blood Donor Services, blood drives can help replenish supply. The Del Ray Business Association will host a blood drive with Inova on Wednesday, April 20.

The Inova bloodmobile will be hosted in the parking lot of Del Ray Psych & Wellness at 1900 Mount Vernon Avenue. To donate blood, register for an available appointment slot.

There will be an extra incentive for donating. For every blood donation, Del Ray Psych will donate $10 to charity for Alexandria's Spring2Action campaign. Anyone who donates $10 to charity that day will be entered into a raffle for a $50 gift card to a Del Ray restaurant of the winner's choice.

Earlier this year, Inova said it was facing a blood shortage and immediately needed donations of all blood types. The need for blood donations is continuous, as Inova typically needs 200 units of blood and blood components each day to support patients' needs. Each donation can help up to three patients.
