Dairy Godmother Taking Annual January Break

If you’re planning on heading to the Dairy Godmother for some frozen custard this January, just stop right now.

Del Ray’s dessert destination closed for its annual winter break on Monday.

The shop will reopen on Feb. 7, just in time for Valentine’s Day. 

“I expect you to all be rail thin when I get back,” owner Liz Davis tweeted Tuesday morning, the first day of her vacation. “Since you seem to think I have something to do with your weight.”

Davis is taking a trip to Iceland during the break, because winters in Alexandria apparently just aren’t cold enough.
