DC Homicides Of Alexandria, Bristow Victims Lead To Arrest

Metropolitan Police have charged a man with two homicides with victims from Alexandria and Bristow.

WASHINGTON, DC — Two Washington, DC homicides with victims from Alexandria and Bristow have led to an arrest and charges for one man.

On Monday, a fugitive task force arrested Corde Fitzhugh-Clingman, 22, of Hyattsville, Maryland and charged him with two counts of first degree murder while armed. The charges relate to homicides on July 8, 2021 and April 25, 2022, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

The July 8, 2021 homicide was first reported as an overturned vehicle in the 3300 block of Southern Avenue SE that Prince George’s County Fire and EMS responded to. First responders found a man with gunshot wounds and no signs of life inside the vehicle. Detectives believe the homicide happened in the nearby 3300 block of Erie Street SE.

The victim was identified as Muntsier Sharfi, 24, of Bristow.

The other homicide on April 25, 2022 happened in the 5000 block of South Dakota Avenue NE. Police responded to a report of a crash and shooting before locating a driver with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.

The victim was identfied as Zekariya Elmi, 26, of Alexandria.
