Del Ray Homicide Investigated, Suspect In Custody

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A homicide is being investigated Sunday evening in the Del Ray neighborhood, according to Alexandria Police.

The suspected stabbing happened around 4:27 p.m. in the 2700 block of Dewitt Avenue. Police found a 38-year-old man, who died at the scene.

The victim was identified as Emmanuel Negatu, 38, of Centreville.

Police have a suspect in custody, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of the victim's death.
