Del Ray Homicide Of Centreville Man Leads To Charge: Police

Alexandria Police have placed a charge tied to the fatal stabbing of a Centreville man in the Del Ray neighborhood.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A suspect has been charged in November's fatal stabbing in the Del Ray neighborhood.

Alexandria Police had responded to the fatal stabbing in the 2700 block of Dewitt Avenue around 4:27 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12. Police found the victim, who had died inside the location. He was identified as Emmanuel Negatu, 38, of Centreville, Virginia.

At the time of the death, police said that a suspect was in custody and an autopsy was pending to determine the cause of death. On Wednesday, police said Bisrat Shaga, 35, of Alexandria was charged with first-degree murder.
