Del Ray Variety Aims for March Opening

New store on E. Custis Avenue to carry everything from kids toys to beauty products.

Del Ray Variety, a new shop that aims to put a modern twist on the old fashioned variety store, is aiming to open in March just off Mount Vernon Avenue.

Store manager Roxann Patrick has been busy in recent weeks transforming the 4,000-square-foot space located next to Artifacts at 203 E. Custis Ave. Old Town-based auction and appraisal house Potomack Company recently used the property for a rug auction. The building previously housed Christian’s Community Center Church of Alexandria.

Aiming to create “a fun, family-friendly experience for the whole Del Ray community,” Patrick plans on carrying a wide array of products at the store, including kids toys, arts and crafts, pet products, helium balloons, greeting cards, hardware and party supplies, office and school supplies, beauty products, bath and kitchen products and general home merchandise.
