Del Ray's Next First Thursday Is A Country Music Showdown

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Del Ray will turn into a country music lover's paradise for the next First Thursday street festival in August.

First Thursday: Del Ray's Country Music Showdown will be held Thursday, Aug. 3 from 6 p.m. to dusk at Pat Miller Neighborhood Square (Mount Vernon and Oxford Avenues). Attendees will enjoy free country line dancing lessons, themed activities like bull roping for children, giveaways and more.

Each month's First Thursday benefits a different nonprofit. This month's event will benefit the Friends of Duncan Library, a volunteer group that supports programs, the library collection and more at Duncan Library.

First Thursday is held monthly from April to September. The last event of the year will be First Thursday: Star Wars Day in a Neighborhood Far, Far Away on Sept. 7.
