Del Ray's Star Wars First Thursday Moved To October With 'Revenge Of The 5th' Theme

ALEXANDRIA, VA — You can put away your lightsabers and Star Wars costumes for now, because Del Ray's First Thursday on Thursday, Sept. 7 is postponed due to the weather forecast. But the event will come back with a vengeance, as First Thursday: Revenge of the 5th is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 5.

Even though the outdoor street festival is postponed, you can still get your Star Wars fix at Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap Thursday. There will be Star Wars trivia at 6:30 p.m. followed by a screening of "Return of the Jedi." Reservations can be requested at Lena's Bar & Tap Room to guarantee a table.

On Oct. 5, attendees can wear their best Star Wars costume and head to Mount Vernon Avenue in the area of Pat Miller Neighborhood Square, Mount Vernon and Oxford Avenues. The street festival will have themed activities for attendees to enjoy. Check back for more details closer to the event.

Each month's First Thursday benefits a different nonprofit. This month's featured nonprofit is the National Center for Women’s Innovations, which promotes the accomplishments of women.

First Thursday is held by the Del Ray Business Association, and this month's event is sponsored by Click, LLC. The monthly events are held April through September.
