National Park Service Announces Record of Decision
The NPS will allow temporary equipment staging on its land during the construction of the Potomac Yard Metrorail Station.

From the National Park Service:
ALEXANDRIA, VA – The National Park Service (NPS) will issue a permit to allow temporary equipment staging on its land along the George Washington Memorial Parkway during the construction of the Potomac Yard Metrorail Station. In addition, a parcel of NPS land will be permanently exchanged for City of Alexandria property to make the Metrorail station possible.
The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the City of Alexandria, pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and regulations, prepared a Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) and Section 4(f) Evaluation, dated June 1, 2016. The NPS served as a cooperating agency because of the project’s impacts to George Washington Memorial Parkway resources. After careful review of the FEIS and other supporting documentation and close consultation with the FTA, the City of Alexandria and WMATA, the NPS adopted the Potomac Yard Metrorail Station EIS and authorized the use of land within the George Washington Memorial Parkway and Greens Scenic Area Easement (GSAE). The Record of Decision was issued November 1, 2016.
