Shake Shack Opening Soon at Pentagon City

ARLINGTON, VA -- There are signs that the new Shake Shack coming to Pentagon City shopping center is set to open soon.

The doors could be opening as soon as next week, according to an announcement on the Simon Property Group Website that notes: "This store is expected to open as of 4/7/2016." That's a week from Thursday.

The popular chain is designed as a modern day “roadside” burger stand, serving up burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, shakes and more. Shake Shack is now serving chicken sandwiches and patrons seem to especially like the "crinkle cut" fries. Each Shake Shack tweaks its own menu; the Arlington location's Website is not up yet but you can check out the Tysons location menu here.

The Arlington location's wine and beer license is pending, according to the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control website.

The restaurant will be located at 1100 S. Hayes St. at the Hayes Street mall entrance. The eatery is looking to hire "team members," according to a craigslist post. The company announced it will pay $12 an hour at its DC area locations, according to Nation's Restaurant News.

Yelp reviewers have given 3.5 stars to the other Shake Shack in Virginia, at Tysons Corner Center, which opened in August 2014. Read reviews here.
