Shooting Of Woman In Alexandria Leads To Arrest
A shooting believed to have happened in the Del Ray neighborhood has prompted charges for an Alexandria resident.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — A shooting of a woman believed to have happened in the Del Ray neighborhood has led to charges.
Alexandria Police began investigating after a woman arrived at the hospital on June 20 with a lower body gunshot wound. The hospital notified police, who found the incident happened in the 300 block of East Raymond Avenue. The woman has non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Police arrested the suspect, Jovan Saunders, 45, of Alexandria. Saunders was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
