ALEXANDRIA, VA — An escape from reality into a whimsical world of dreams is the concept of a new cocktail bar experience at Del Ray Pizzeria.

Dreampt opened late last week above Del Ray Pizzeria at 2216 Mount Vernon, Alexandria, VA. The experience offers "experimental cocktails, strange wines, and creative small plates," according to Del Ray Pizzeria's website.

"Step into a world where dreams intertwine with the realms beyond, where the boundaries of imagination are pushed," Del Ray Pizzeria's website says about the experience. "Welcome to Dreampt, an intimate cocktail lounge that invites you to indulge in an extraordinary sensory experience."

The restaurant's upstairs space has been transformed with features like a cloud canopy, LED lighting and abstract art to create the dream-themed experience. There are also mocktail options without alcohol, a selection of wines and bites. The food menu includes purple sweet potato fries, chicken egg rolls, spaghetti squash, fried avocado, Elvis egg rolls and dreamy pistachio ricotta cake.
