Velvet & Rye Concept Set To End At Lena's Loft Space

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Creative dining concepts have caught on during the COVID-19 pandemic at Alexandria's Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap. The latest concept is set to end and soon be replaced by a new one.

Lena's Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap announced the 1920s-themed Velvet & Rye at the Loft at Lena's space will close after Saturday, July 15. The concept was introduced in late 2021, offering Roaring Twenties and Prohibition-era speakeasy setting with themed cocktails and other specials.

After Saturday, the loft space will be closed in preparation for the next concept. The next concept hasn't been announced yet, but stay tuned by following Lena's website and social media.

Other past concepts have included Loft at Lena's Winter Lodge and Loft at Lena's Full Bloom. Its Lena's Oasis concept at its parking deck ended as the City of Alexandria's temporary COVID-19 outdoor dining program shifted to a permanent program with fees.

Lena's isn't the only Del Ray restaurant to offer rotating experiences. The Del Ray Pop-Up Bar next to Pork Barrel BBQ and Holy Cow at 2312 Mount Vernon Avenue just introduced its newest concept, Miami Vibes, ALX Now first reported.
