1 Dead, 3 Hurt In 4-Vehicle Crash; Most Of I-495 North Closed: VA State Police

All but one northbound lane of I-495 were closed Monday afternoon due to a fatal crash that injured three others, according to authorities.

FAIRFAX, VA — One person was killed and three others were injured in a four-vehicle crash Monday afternoon on northbound I-495 near Braddock Road in Fairfax County, according to the Virginia State Police.

The crash, which occurred around 3:08 p.m., involved a Toyota Tacoma, a Scion XB (in which a person died), a Honda Civic, and a Ford F150, according to state police.

"In addition to the fatality, there was one passenger transported with serious injuries, and two more transported with non-life-threatening injuries," according to the incident report.

All express lanes in the area and all but one main road remained closed around 4:30 p.m., as the police investigate the incident, according to the state police.
