2023 Democratic Primary: Early Voting Starts Friday In Fairfax City
City of Fairfax voters will be casting ballots for candidates in the June 20 Democratic Party Primary three races.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Early in-person voting for the June 20 Democratic Party Primary in Fairfax City begins on Friday and runs through June 17.
The primary will decide the Democratic candidates who will represent their party in the General Election on Nov. 7. City voters will be casting ballots in the Commonwealth Attorney, Sheriff and Virginia Senate races.
The November election will be the first one in which the redrawn districts in the Virginia General Assembly will be in effect. What this means for primary voters in the city is that they'll be choosing a Virginia Senate candidate in the 37th District.

The new district includes all of Fairfax City, as well as all or parts of Vienna, Dunn Losing, Merrifield, Oakton, Fair Oaks, Tysons, and Falls Church.

Senate District 37:
Fairfax City residents can vote early either by mail or in-person at Fairfax City Hall, which is located at 10455 Armstrong St. No appointment is necessary to vote in-person.
Fairfax City voters can view a sample ballot for the June 20 primary online.
During the early voting period, City Hall will be open Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m, and Saturdays, June 10 and June 17, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 17 will be the final day for early in-person voting.
Voters may enter the building through either Atrium entrance. They will then be directed where to go to vote. No appointment is required and voters should bring an acceptable form of identification.
To request an absentee ballot in order to vote by mail, voters can apply online at the Virginia Department of Elections Citizen Portal or complete an application form and submit it via mail or email.
Voters have until 5 p.m. on June 9 to request a by-mail ballot. Completed ballots must be postmarked by June 20 and received by 12 noon on June 23. Ballots may also be dropped off in the ballot drop box at City Hall or present in-person at the Office of Elections. Additionally, ballots can be dropped off at a city voting precinct by 7 p.m. on June 20.
