$23.7M To Fund 2 Fairfax City Transportation Projects: Public Input

Northern Virginia Transportation Authority is seeking public input on 24 regional project proposals, including two from Fairfax City.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Northern Virginia Transportation Authority began soliciting public feedback about 24 projects in the region as part of the FY2024-2029 Six Year Program. Nine localities, including Fairfax City, and the Virginia Railway Express have submitted proposals seeking nearly $1 billion in funding for transportation projects.

Fairfax City submitted a request for $23.7 million in funding for two projects: Blenheim Boulevard Multimodal Improvements ($5.4 million) and Northfax Network Improvements - Northfax East-West ($18,332,754).

The total amount in funding requested by the localities and VRE was $947,219,560. A full list of the 24 projects can be found on the NVTA website.

NVTA will be accepting feedback from the public about the 24 SYP candidate projects up to 11:59 p.m., on May 19. Feedback can be submitted in the following ways:
