All I-495N Lanes Closed Tonight

I-495 north will close just before Exit 47 (Route 7) tonight to allow crews to set a 250-ton steel bridge girder, according to Virginia Department of Transportation.

This means all lanes will be detoured to Exit 47B (Route 7 east). Vehicles will have to use a temporary access ramp to access I-495 north again. Those who try to exit from I-495 north to Exit 47A (Route 7 west) will also need to use Exit 47B to follow the detour and turn left on Route 7 west. 

The lanes will start to close one by one at 9:30 p.m. All lanes will be closed by 11 p.m.

All should be open by 7 a.m. Saturday.
