Power Restored To Thousands In South Lakes, Fair Oaks: Dominion Energy

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — By 5:15 p.m., Dominion Energy work crews had restored power power to the majority of households that experienced outages due to Tuesday afternoon's storms.

Thousands of Dominion Energy customers were without power as severe thunderstorms passed through central Fairfax County around 3 p.m.

Power was back on for the 1,624 customers in the South Lakes/Reston area, as well as the 3,637 customers in the Fairlee/Dunn Loring area and 2,730 customers in the Fair Lakes/Fair Oaks/Penderwood neighborhoods

Dominion reported the following neighborhoods still without power around 5:20 p.m.:

  • Difficult Run - 189 customers without power; crews working; estimated time for restoration of power 6-11 p.m.
  • Vienna - 137 customers without power; crews working; estimated time for restoration of power 6-11 p.m.
  • Fairfax City/Kamp Washington - 62 customers without power; crews awaiting assignment; estimated time for restoration of power 5-10 p.m.
