Assistance League of Northern Virginia Marks 20 Years of Service
Support Our Efforts To Help Children In Need Through Our Wish List

Assistance League of Northern Virginia is excited to announce that this year, it is celebrating its 20th year as a chapter of the National Assistance League organization. Established first as a guild in 1999 and then formally chartered as a chapter in July 2004, Assistance League of Northern Virginia made a difference in the community right from the start. Two of its earliest philanthropic programs, Weekend Food for Kids and Hugs Pillows, continue today! Over the years, the nonprofit has added new programs and expanded them, but its over-arching goal has always been to promote the well-being, self-esteem, and education of at-risk youth in the community.
Although Northern Virginia is an affluent area, many in our community experience extreme poverty. Throughout 2024, Assistance League will have monthly opportunities for friends and supporters to help it continue its philanthropic efforts by purchasing items from various wish lists. This month, Assistance League asks that you buy and donate underwear and socks from the Tushies & Toes Wish List on Amazon. Growing kids always need those items, and the wish list will allow you to purchase as many sets for boys and girls as you want.
