FAIRFAX, VA — Bypass lanes at the Nutley Street/I-66 Interchange in Fairfax opened on Saturday, allowing drivers traveling in both directions on Nutley Street easier access to I-66, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

With the new bypass lanes open, southbound drivers will be able to access I-66 East without having to navigate the roundabout on the north side of the highway. Likewise, the northbound bypass will allow drivers to access I-66 West and avoid the roundabout to the south of the highway.

Through traffic on Nutley Street will continue to use the roundabouts in order to traverse the bridge over I-66.
