  1. Registrations for the Camp Fairfax summer programs reopened yesterday after initial technical difficulties. Enrollment will now be staggered over a few days based on the alphabetical name of the camp locations. Open for rising first through seventh graders living in Fairfax County or City, the camp runs for week-long sessions between June and August. Registration will be available online or by phone for those interested; camp costs can be adjusted based on family income. (Tysons Reporter)
  2. On Tuesday evening, the Fairfax County Fire Department dealt with multiple outdoor fires on Old Keene Mill Road near Harwood Place in West Springfield. In addition to putting out all the firest, the crews on the scene also worked to water down other hot spots in the area; thankfully, no injuries were reported in connection to these fires. A portion of westbound Old Keene Mill Rd. was shut down between Tiverton Drive and Bardu Avenue for approximately an hour. (WUSA9.com)
