Pedestrian-Involved Crash Causes Delays On Fairfax Boulevard: Police

A pedestrian injured in a collision with a car on Thursday afternoon on Fairfax Boulevard was in stable condition, according to police.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A pedestrian injured in a collision with a car Thursday afternoon on Fairfax Boulevard was in stable condition at Fairfax Hospital, according to a City of Fairfax Police spokesman. No other injuries were reported.

Officers responded around 2:45 p.m., to the area of Fairfax Boulevard in front of the WAWA store for the report of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle, according to a city spokesman.

Investigators determined that the pedestrian was attempting to cross from the north side to the south side of Fairfax Boulevard when they were struck by a westbound vehicle, according to the city spokesman. At the time of the collision, the pedestrian was not in the crosswalk.

The pedestrian was taken to Fairfax Hospital and reportedly was in stable condition. The driver of the striking vehicle remained on the scene and waited for police to arrive.

Police closed the lefthand lane of westbound Fairfax Boulevard between Spring Street and Draper Drive for approximately two hours. All lanes of Fairfax Boulevard reopened around 4:40 p.m., according to police.
