Criminals Take Advantage of 5 Unlocked Fairfax Vehicles
The latest in Fairfax City crime news.

Police are investigating a string of vehicle tamperings that occurred on Roberts Road, Addison Court and Locust Lane on April 13. This and more crime news:
- Vandalism, 9700 Block of Main Street: Someone(s) damaged a vent guard wind deflector on a vehicle parked in front of a Main Street residence sometime after 9 p.m. on April 12.
- Vandalism, Jermantown Square Shopping Center Parking Lot: An unknown man scratched a parked vehicle with a key and confronted the driver over a parking space at around 1 p.m. on April 13.
- Shoplifting, Goodwill Retail Store: An unknown woman stole five rings from a Goodwill cart at around 1:51 p.m. on April 13.
- Vandalism, 3900 Block of Old Lee Highway: Someone(s) spray painted monkeys on the back of a utility box. The crime was reported at 5:37 p.m. on April 13.
- Larceny, Vehicle Tampering, 4000 Block of Roberts Road / 10200 Block of Addison Court / 4100 Block of Locust Lane: Someone(s) entered one unlocked vehicle on Roberts Road, two on Addison Court and two on Locust Lane after 9 a.m. on April 13. Cash, a GPS unit and iPod were taken from the Roberts Road vehicle. The suspect(s) also stole change from one of the vehicles parked on Locust Lane. Nothing else was taken from the other vehicles.
- Vandalism, 4100 Block of Lexington Court: Someone(s) cut a window screen at a home on Lexington Court sometime after 5:30 p.m. on April 13.
- Threats, 10955 Fairfax Boulevard / Office Building: An unknown male left a threatening message on an employee's cell phone at around 3:42 p.m. on April 14.
- Shoplifting, : Latroy Shelton, 36, of 9109 Bowler Drive was arrested after he allegedly stole cans of beer from the store at around 4:12 p.m. on April 15. Officers picked him up in the area.
- Larceny, 3800 Block of Chain Bridge Road: Someone(s) stole three mountain bikes from the back porch of a Chain Bridge Road residence sometime between 6 p.m. April 13 and midnight April 14.
