Dalia Palchik Out-Raises Brian Murphy In Providence BOS Race
Dalia Palchik and Brian Murphy are running for the Providence District seat on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.

FAIRFAX, VA — Democrat Dalia Palchik has out-raised her Republican opponent Brian Murphy, in the race to represent the Providence District on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, according to the latest campaign finance filing.
Palchik's campaign reported on Sept. 15 that it received $40,231 in contributions from Jan. 1 and Aug. 31, according to the Virginia Public Access Project. In comparison, Lang's campaign received $2,253 in donations when he launched his campaign on May 8 to Aug. 31.
In total, Palchik's campaign received $36,638 in cash contributions of more than $100, $1,693 in cash contributions of less than $100, and $1,900 in miscellaneous receipts, through Aug. 31. Adding that to a starting balance of $106,583 and subtracting $19,031 in expenses, the campaign had an ending balance of $127,781 on Aug. 31.

Palchik's top four donations for 2023 were:
- $5,000 - Firefighters-Local 2068
- $5,000 - Vincent J Forte
- $3,500 - Common Good VA
- $3,000 - Main Street Virginia
Murphy's campaign received $2,253 in cash contributions of more than $100 and $607 in cash contributions of $100 or less, according to VPAP. Subtracting $1, 349 in expenses, the campaign had $1,510 left in the bank on Aug. 31.

Murphy's top four donations in 2023 were:
- $1,000 - Steve Rogers
- $500 - Morton C Blackwell
- $500 - Sriram Peddibhotla
- $254 - Brian Murphy
The next campaign filing deadline is Oct. 16, which will include each candidate's contributions and expenditures for September.
The first absentee ballots for the General Election were mailed on Friday, Sept. 22, which was also when early voting began. Early voting will continue through Nov. 4, which is three days before Election Day.
