Date Set For Opening Of Sustainable Fish Restaurant In NoVA
An opening date has been set for a wild-caught and farm-raised seafood restaurant currently under construction in Fairfax City.
FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A wild-caught and farm-raised seafood restaurant currently under construction in Fairfax City's Kamp Washington Shopping Center will be opening in September, according to reports.
California Fish Grill Casual Kitchen will open its new restaurant in the 3,030-square-foot space formerly occupied by Mod Pizza at 11048 Main St. The restaurant specializes in prioritizing sustainability and environmental responsibility in the seafood it serves.
The Fairfax City location is the first of three restaurants the Newport Beach-based company plans to open in the DMV, according to the Washington Business Journal.

In October, California Fish Grill Casual Kitchen is set to open its Rockville location at 12238 Rockville Pike, WBJ reported. The third location at 7003A Manchester Blvd. in Franconia has a mid-November opening scheduled. The company is looking for three more East Coast locations in which to expand its business.
"We only serve wild-caught and farm-raised seafood that is rated Best Choice or Good Alternative by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program or Eco-Certified by a third-party," according to a company statement.

City residents living in the Kamp Washington area have a long list of new dining options, some of which are already open.
On the other side of Main Street, Haraz Yemeni Coffee, The Alley, and Blazin Chicken & Gyro opened recently in the Westbriar Center. Sushi Friends Hashi opened a restaurant at the corner of Main Street and Jermantown Road.
In addition, Steak Shack and Tatte Bakery & Cafe will be opening locations in the former Just Tires building in the Kamp Washington Shopping Center.
