Eat-And-Dash Couple Spend Part Of Christmas In Jail: Police
A couple who police say left a Fairfax City restaurant without paying spent part of Christmas Day in jail, according to authorities.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A man and a woman who left a local restaurant on Christmas without paying ended up in jail facing multiple charges, including defrauding an innkeeper, according to City of Fairfax Police.
Officers were dispatched around 2:07 p.m. to The Crazy Crab at 10160 Fairfax Blvd. for the report of two customers not paying their bill and leaving the restaurant, according to police.
When the officers arrived on the scene, they saw a man assaulting a woman outside the restaurant, according to the incident report. Police arrested 27-year-old Jamie Herrera of Silver Spring and 25-year-old Cindy Gomez-Santos of Fairfax and then took them to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Both Herrera and Gomez-Santos were each charged with defrauding an innkeeper and being drunk in public, according to police. Herrera was also cited for assault. They were then held in the ADC until they were deemed sober.
Herrera and Gomez-Santos each have a hearing scheduled for Jan. 30, 2025 in Fairfax City General District Court on the drunk-in-public charge, according to court records. No information was available concerning the other charges.

Public intoxication is considered a Class 4 misdemeanor. If Herrera and Gomez-Santos are found guilty, they face a potential fine of up to $250 each.
