FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Residents living near George Mason University's Fairfax campus can expect heavier-than-normal traffic next week due to students returning to their dorms for the start of the fall semester on Aug. 25, according to a GMU alert.

Traffic impacts are expected to occur around campus between Aug. 17-24, particularly near Braddock Road.

  • Early Arrivals: Sunday, Aug. 17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Freshmen: Aug. 20-21, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Upper-level Classes: Aug. 22-24, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Flats and Main on University apartment complexes are not affiliated with GMU housing, according to the alert.
