FAIRFAX, VA—Once upon a time, Paul Newman took Katherine Ross on one of the more notable bicycle rides in cinematic history. Now, lo these many years later, here's a chance to create your own magic on that two-wheeled contraption. It's Bike Month in Fairfax City, which coincides with National Bike Month, and all manner of events are on tap:

All during the month of May, solve clues and bike to landmarks throughout the City of Fairfax. When you find the landmarks:

- Tag @cityoffairfaxva and use the hashtag #rideandseek
Prizes will be awarded each Monday in May to the photos with the most "likes"!

Tour de Solar Community Bike Ride
On 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 11, join a community bike tour of homes with solar energy installations. It begins and ends at City Hall (10455 Armstrong St). Explore the city's trails and bike-friendly streets and learn more about Solarize NOVA from the city's Sustainability Coordinator and a representative from Ipsun Solar.
Bike to Work Day
This annual event, Friday, May 17, is a favorite among new and experienced cyclists! Register for FREE and get a free t-shirt, snacks, and prizes 6-9 a.m. at the Fairfax City Pit Stop in Old Town Square at 10415 North Street. National Bike to School Day
On Wednesday, May 8, join your classmates and teachers to bike to school. Participate at Daniels Run or Providence Elementary, ask your school about participating, or check out this page for ideas and more information.
