Fairfax County Seeks Emergency Dispatchers

Can you handle pressure? Fairfax County is looking for emergency medical, police, and fire dispatchers to join its crew.

Fairfax County Public Safety Communicators answer all 911 and non-emergency calls. The information is entered into the Computer Aided Dispatch System, monitoring and controlling public safety resources. 

Shifts are typically 12 and-a-half hours long. Base pay is $18.29 per hour depending on experience. Applicants must have no felony convictions or commission of serious misdemeanors, among other qualifications.

Trainees also learn skills on the CAD system, animal control, and geography among other skills.
