VIRGINIA — Parts of Virginia could see heavy snowfall beginning Wednesday night and continuing into Thursday as part of a string of February winter storms is expected to move across the region, according to the latest forecast.

Even though a slight change of snow showers are expected for the Baltimore-Washington, DC region midweek, most of the heavy snowfall is expected in Southeastern Virginia, according to the National Weather Service.

"The brewing snowstorm will have two key pieces associated with it, "AccuWeather Chief Meteorologist Jonathan Porter said. "Those being a fresh injection of Arctic air and the fact that it will be the caboose in the long train of February storms as the last storm in a series is often the strongest."
