FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Amini Bonae, a 29-year-old community organizer and current Fairfax City Council candidate, was interviewed recently by Lauren Gambino, a reporter with The Guardian.

Bonae told Gambino she “felt a surge of energy” in her own city council race now that Vice President Kamala Harris was on the ballot.

“I’m just so excited and – hello! – I’ll be on the same ballot as,” Bonae paused, shaking her hands in excitement, according to Gamino's reporting, “possibly the first Black woman Potus. That is just so motivating for me.”
